Chemistry at Work 2019

By | 6th May 2019

This Academic Year’s event in our areas are going well despite the withdrawal of the RSC Education Department’s designated “Chemistry at Work” funding in 2018 which, with National Organisers previously in post, had seen these great events reach nation proportions.

Nevertheless, we have been able to run all the school-based events still thanks to the great support of the team of demonstrators I have established over the last 20 years plus contributions from RSC Local Sections and a slight increase in the charge to the schools. The central-venue-based Milton Keynes event for Secondary Schools has also survived thanks to support from the keen demonstrators, plus the Sir Nigel Mason Trust, the RSC Local Section and a grant towards expenses from the new RSC Outreach Fund.

It is amazing where Chemistry, and related science, can be found so anyone (including French speakers) interested in gaining experience in how to give an engaging 30-minute repeated demonstration to Secondary School students please contact me.
